Until now, there has been no efficient manner to manage patient wait times.  It is crucial that we do as if reflects good patient care and good customer service.  When we manage wait times well, patients are happy which in turn relieves stress on staff.  More frequent patient monitoring improves the level of care given and reduces liabilities.  Patients leave the facility feeling that they were well cared for and because they never felt ignored- they will tell others of the great customer service that was given.

When patient wait times are not managed effectively.........well it goes with out saying that it is a problem and needs to be fixed.  The
Patient Care Beacon™ brings the entire Healthcare Team into focus on each and every patient.  It very effectively spreads the responsibility to each and every member of the Health Care Team to ensure that excellent patient care, coupled with great customer service, is provided to the patient at every turn.  We are confident it will be a benefit to your organization.
While the Patient Care Beacon concept was originally conceived to address a problem in today’s emergency rooms, it can be equally applied to hospital rooms, nursing homes, clinics and Doctor's offices.  The reason is that in addition to being a tool to manage wait times, it greatly improves patient monitoring. Think about it.  From a hospital administrators view, what could give greater peace of mind than knowing the hospitals' mission is being carried out, aided by a device that ensures patients are routinely checked on?  From the point of view of a family member who must leave a loved one in our care, that same peace of mind would carry over to them , knowing that his/her family member will be monitored closely.  From the referring Physicians point of view- what hospital do you think he/she will choose, knowing that there is a device, backed by hospital policy, that ensures his/her patient is regularly monitored regardless of level of care required?

When was the last time you visited your busy clinic or Dr.'s office?  Perhaps you were placed in a room and waited 30, 40, 50 minutes to be seen.  I’d be willing to bet that no one stepped in to see how you were doing before the Dr. walked in.

Very simply, the
Patient Care Beacon helps us keep focused on the human aspect of our job.  It reminds us that there is a person inside the patient and we need to act accordingly.
